@MrJman1080 if you think a 3 litre v6 is stock in a peugeot 306, you are retarded.
The vid wasnt bias, the stig was pushing the gay car, it was just too heavy and hydrolic suspension does you no favours on a track.
It was not fair putting the peugeot against the austin techinicaly if you look at power, price, braking power, technology etc, so why would it make it any more fair if they done it in an evo which is clearly far better in everyway
The Skyline would also have cost umpteen times more then the Austin to buy stock. Using the Pug was levelling the playing field on rough size, weight and value (pre-modification).
*Sigh* Give us a tuner instead of a ricer, something like a hot STI or an Evo, tuned for performance, and the Healy wouldn't stand a chance. It's all about power to weight, and in this case, the Pug was just plain outclassed. There's too much going to the ICE, Which has it's place- but only in Show cars, like it truly is. However, as an example of what a turner car can do, it isn't really the best choice.
Total cop-out too, with showing that R34 JUST before unveiling the Pugeout.
I think they were actually trying to show the difference between a tuner and ricer, (or in other words, slap the egos of those that think big plastic wings make cars faster and playstations belong in performance cars)
the healy was a very lightweight car, and was heavily tuned, (130hp out of the 900cc pushrod like that is VERY good)
the engine just wasn't a forced induction extreme hp per displacement "tuner" like your thinking
i love the frog eyed sprite but i think if they took all the bull shit out of the peugeot and paint it white. keep it lowered, keep the rims, keep the engine and the modds, take out the hydros, take out everythin except the racing seats and it would be perfect
ya ya ya true man i really like the stock peugont. we dont have them in america but i watch top gear and like them. there not bad cars. but ya take all that BS out and u got ur self a nice decent ride.
this is probably my favorite sort of racing but its just not televised, its not popular, i cant see why. but im building a hill climb car at uni now XD
